AI Search · GEO for DTC

Show up when shoppers ask AI.

TL;DR

Pivot Labs tracks the buyer prompts that matter to your brand weekly on Perplexity, ChatGPT and Gemini, every week.

Each prompt shows whether you're Cited, Mentioned or Missing — plus visibility, average position, share of voice, citation share and rival presence.

Gaps become next moves: answer-shaped content written from your Brand Formula, scored On-Formula before you publish.

What you see each week

One view of the prompts you track, how each answer treats you, and what to do next. The example below uses sample data.

The weekly loop

Measure. Your tracked prompts run on Perplexity, ChatGPT and Gemini each week.

Find gaps. Every prompt gets a status — Cited, Mentioned or Missing — so you can see exactly where you drop out.

Generate. Next moves suggest the right piece to write and draft it from your Brand Formula.

Publish a draft. Copy it out, or push it to WordPress or Shopify as a draft if connected.

Recheck next week. The next weekly check shows whether the answer moved. History builds from the second check onward.

Tracked buyer prompts, by stage

Prompts are grouped by where the shopper is in their decision:

Discovery — "best X for Y". Comparison — "A vs B". Problem-aware — the question before they know a product exists. Brand-direct — "is [your brand] any good?".

The metrics

Visibility — how often you appear across tracked prompts. Average position — where you sit when you do appear. Share of voice — your presence against rivals in the same answers. Citation share — how often answers point to your content. Rival presence — which competitors show up where you don't.

Accuracy monitor

AI answers sometimes get your brand wrong — an old price, a product you don't sell, a claim you'd never make. The accuracy monitor compares answers with the Brand facts in your formula and flags the mismatches, so you know what to correct.

Next moves: content built to be the answer

For each gap, generate one of four answer-shaped formats: a Direct Answer, a Comparison, an FAQ or a Guide. Each one is written from your Brand Formula and comes with an On-Formula score, so you can see it sounds like you before it goes anywhere.

Connected to WordPress or Shopify? Send it as a draft. Otherwise, copy it straight out.

What it doesn't do

AI Search refreshes weekly, not daily. It doesn't crawl or audit your site, check schema or indexing, or connect to Google Search Console. It's focused on what answer engines say about you — and what to write next. Read the AI Search section of the guide for the full walkthrough.

Who it's for

  • DTC founders who suspect shoppers now ask AI before they search.
  • Small teams without an SEO agency who need a clear weekly to-do list.
  • Challenger brands who want to know where rivals appear in AI answers and they don't.
FAQ

Questions, answered.

What does AI Search in Pivot Labs actually do?

It tracks the buyer prompts that matter to your brand weekly on Perplexity, ChatGPT and Gemini, shows whether each answer cites you, mentions you or leaves you out, and turns the gaps into answer-shaped content you can publish.

How often is it checked?

Weekly. Each check refreshes your prompts, statuses and metrics. Your history starts building after the second weekly check, so trends take a few weeks to mean something.

What do Cited, Mentioned and Missing mean?

Cited means the answer names you and points to your content. Mentioned means you appear in the answer without a citation. Missing means the answer doesn't include you at all.

Does it publish content for me?

It drafts the content. If you connect WordPress or Shopify you can push it there as a draft to review — nothing goes live without you.

Is it a technical SEO tool?

No. It doesn't crawl your site, audit schema or connect to Google Search Console. It focuses on what AI answer engines say about you and what to write to change that.

Which plan includes AI Search?

Both plans. Solo ($29/mo) includes full AI Search with 25 tracked prompts; Premium ($59/mo) raises that to 60 and adds Claude as an optional engine. Directional insight — no ranking is guaranteed.
